ChimeNet awarded build out and support of entire Alliance Medical wide area network
Alliance Medical (formerly Family Care / GWMRI of Waterbury, CT) will be moving into their new, state of the art, facilities in Middlebury, Connecticut and have awarded the build out and support of their entire WAN (wide area network) to ChimeNet. This new facility will house approximately 100 staff employees and will become the hub of Alliance Medical's secure data network - connecting their remote facilities over various technologies such as IMA and frame relay circuits. ChimeNet will also provide Alliance with a suite of other services such as; data network security, managed VPN and ISP (Internet Services). Stuart Kaye, IT Manager for Alliance Medical said, "ChimeNet provides one-stop, fully managed secure IT solutions for our company. They are an excellent company to work with!"

Citywide network committee says ChimeNet is ... The WAN above the rest
A committee serving the town of Shelton has recommended that the city approve a five-year, $1.6 million contract with ChimeNet to build its first citywide Wide Area Network (WAN) to connect the town's schools and municipal buildings.

ChimeNet was selected over eight other information technology companies that responded to the city's request for proposals. "They put their thinking caps on," said Peter Oliver of Oliver Associates in Orange, Connecticut, describing ChimeNet's winning bid. Oliver Associates served as a consultant in the town's needs assessment and proposal selection process for the WAN vendor.

The ChimeNet proposal is a cost-effective hybrid plan that links the Shelton schools and city buildings through a combination of connectivity options. Because of topography and distance from some of the schools and municipal buildings, some of the town's fire companies will be connected through a telephone Internet connection, while a fiber optic backbone will connect the high school and police department, and a wireless connection will link the senior center and ambulance station.

A Huntington Herald newspaper article on the Shelton Wide Area Network Committee's selection of ChimeNet as the town's WAN vendor is available online at http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=10921940&BRD=1346&PAG=461&dept_id=433113&rfi=6
